Food allergy has become one of the more common allergic disorders. Food allergy typically presents in early childhood, usually after the first exposure to the offending food. Cow’s milk, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, soybean and shellfish are the most common foods implicated after an allergic reaction occurs.
Asthma is the most common respiratory system disorder seen in both children and adults. Asthma therapy has changed dramatically over the years. Our patients typically do very well requiring only minimal medications. Now asthma patients can expect to experience a full and active lifestyle with emergency room visits and hospitalizations only rarely required.
Seasonal allergies affect upwards of 20 % of our population. Tree pollen, grass and weed pollen are prevalent in our area and at peak levels, patients who are sensitive can become incapacitated. We have a variety of sophisticated strategies that make seasonal allergies much more bearable allowing our patients to enjoy all four seasons.
